Our Community Network
Within Rossendale there are many active community, voluntary and faith groups. Rossendale has strength in its diversity; there are a range of local groups operating within localities, which have the potential of coming together to provide a strong and vibrant network for the whole Borough.
A strong and vibrant community network means that there are opportunities for all people, families and individuals to become engaged in community life. A strong and vibrant community network will be inclusive and actively engage with all members of society.
This also means public services listening to community ideas and developing local solutions that are based on consultation and involvement. It is about understanding and respecting all of the communities which live, work and visit the Borough and working in partnership across communities to develop a better Rossendale.
As a non NRF funded LSP the Community Network (CN) receives no government funding. Rossendale Enterprise Anchor Limited (REAL) has been established as a Registered Charity and as an infrastructure social enterprise hub to make Rossendale a better place to live and work by supporting the development and delivery of community driven projects that build capacity and address inequalities. REAL does this by creating partnerships to make things happen with its main focus being in allied services that promote better health and contribute to social and economic regeneration. As part of this work REAL has supported Rossendale Community Network the voice of the people, by delivering many tasks such as the creation and maintenance of a communication database, the Conference - Rossendale on the UP - and setting the scene for a World Class Health Facility in Rossendale. Rossendale Borough Council has awarded £20,000 to REAL towards this.
